Queen Latifah, Jennifer Hudson, and Alicia Keys are talking about their roles in the new film The Secret Life of Bees in the new issue of Ebony Magazine.
Alicia reveals she resorted to wearing a fake tan on the set of the movie after trips to tanning salons failed to make her look darker.
“They made fun of me the whole time. I would tell Queen: ‘I’m darker than you’. She’d say: ‘Whatever, just wait till all that makeup comes off.’”
Below is a preview of the upcoming episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show featuring the cast from “The Secret Lives of Bees,” the New York Times Bestseller which is coming to the big screen this Fall. The episode will premiere this Thursday, October 2nd. Queen Latifah, Dakota Fanning, Jennifer Hudson, Alicia Keys and Sophie Okonedo will sit down with Oprah to discuss the film and answer viewer questions. Alicia Keys will close out the show with her hit song “Superwoman”!

The nominees for the annual MTV European Awards have been announced, and Alicia is nominated in two categories: Album of the Year and Ultimate Urban!
The MTV EMA’s will be held November 6th, live from Liverpool.
