The American Music Awards took place Sunday night (November 18) at Los Angeles, California’s Nokia Theatre.
Actor Blair Underwood introduced Alicia Keys, who on the verge of her latest album release, performed the album’s first hit single, “No One” with a twist. In the three-and-a-half minutes Keys had to perform she included a host of Caribbean-dance hall artists – Junior Reid who performed his hit “One Blood;” old-schoolers Chakademus and the Pliers performing, their hit, “Murder She Wrote;” and Dancehall superstar Beanie Man who performed his biggest hit, “Girls Dem Sugar” – to create what would be the biggest and most unexpected highlight of the night.
