As the VMA bullet train continues to charge down the tracks, several new high-profile passengers have hopped on board, further ensuring that the September 9 show will be a memorable ride.

Soon to be mouthing the now-famous words “And the Moonman goes to …” are the newest presenters, a list that includes “Transformers” stars Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox; “The Kingdom” actors Jamie Foxx and Jennifer Garner; starlets Rosario Dawson, Pamela Anderson, Jennifer Hudson and Nicole Scherzinger; the “Entourage” boys; along with VMA vets Robin Thicke, Alicia Keys and Eve.

Catch all the star-packed VMA action direct from Las Vegas on Sunday, September 9. MTV News’ preshow kicks things off live at 8 p.m. ET, followed by the big show at 9 p.m.

Alicia Keys needed less than a full day of airplay to earn Hot Shot Debut honors with “No One” at No. 65 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs; her new album, “As I Am,” is due Nov. 13 via J.

Alicia Keys’ reps are denying talk that she’s miffed with the Weinstein Co. because it didn’t use one of her songs in “The Nanny Diaries.” In fact, we hear the Grammy winner’s acting in the comedy is drawing such good buzz she’s up for the movie version of “Sex and the City.” Meanwhile, Keys is due to team up with Carlos Santana at the Conde Nast Fashion Rocks concert on Sept. 6. Also dueting: Carrie Underwood and Fleetwood Mac’s Lindsey Buckingham; Mary J. Blige and Usher; and Fergie and Ludacris. Jeremy Piven will emcee. Presenters include Jessica Alba, 50 Cent and Tommy Hilfiger.

Singer Alicia Keys is surprised that her teenage romance made national headlines in the US after actress Clare Danes said they dated the same guy on TV.

Danes said that she and Keys dated Billy Cherry in high school and that Keys is still in touch with her childhood sweetheart. And Keys later said that the fuss over what Danes said is unwarranted.

‘I can’t believe this… Clare Danes and I went to school together in junior high… and that’s how I know her, and there was this guy there, named Billy.

‘He was a really nice guy and I actually still know him now. I think at some point, somewhere, she may have kind of either liked him or went out with him and at some point I kind of liked him and went out with him, so I think that connected us in some way. But I can’t believe that’s a big national story right now. Billy, you did it!’

Keys went on to reveal she ‘has a thing for Billys’ - her first kiss was with another Billy.
